Why do people ask questions about New Zealand in the Australian section of Travel...New Zealand is not part of Australia (though they wish they were).
References :
I don't think so. With the current exchange rate £1 = NZ$2.5347

That's roughly $3,500.

I would allow $1000 a week on top of accommodation. So say you stay in an average hotel for $142 a night, that's $1000 a week for accommodation alone. You need food, transport and activities on top of that.

You would really need £3000, if you were to stay in hostels, eat cheaply, do little or no activities (no snow sports, no bungee or rafting or helicopters, etc) and no gifts for family/friends you could probably manage on £2000 but I would want to have a credit card as well, just in case.
