You’ll be in safe hands with our highly-trained and experienced guides and pilots who can tailor your heli hiking adventure to specifically meet your interests and abilities.
Most of our Queenstown heli tours are scenic flights without a guide where you’ll get flown into a really cool place by your pilot, get ushered out while the engine is still running to take a few snapshots and fly away again minutes later. It’s a breathtaking experience – especially if it’s your first time in a chopper.
If you ‘re familiar with choppers or crave a deeper experience, splurge on a heli hiking tour with me instead. I’ll get the chopper to drop us into the most remote, special spots on the South Island where you can spend your precious vacation time truly experiencing these places — feeling the dirt beneath your boots and taking your time soaking in the views and the stories of this amazing little country. After an unforgettable day out, we’ll call the chopper for a lift back home to share the memories.
Middle Earth Waterfalls
What a fabulous experience!!! We chose the gourmet picnic and middle earth flight. The scenery was breathtaking , the flight over the glacier awe inspiring and the picnic fare was delicious, especially with the chilled champagne!!! A 10 out of 10 experience which I highly recommend!!!! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and care.
I will remember this day for a long time!
What a wonderful experience I had! Mark picked me up from the lodge [in Wanaka] I was staying at and we drove for around two hours to the Fox Glacier area. Soon afterwards, we boarded our helicopter and were dropped off in the middle of a snow field on the glacier – from then on it was just us, away from the masses and exactly what I imagined. I wanted nature, scenery and a bit of excitement and I got all of it! Mark is a great, incredibly experienced guide who lives and breathes the outdoors. We climbed, explored, climbed some more until the helicopter came to pick us up again in the afternoon – a well-planned, exciting and exhausting day. And above all, he is such a nice guy – ideal company for a day in the mountains! Mark, thank you very much for the wonderful Fox Glacier climb – I will remember this day for a long time!
Well organized, full of special places – but shown from an unexpected angle
Visiting New Zealand is a challenge. So, when you arrive, you don’t want to miss anything, you want the experience to go beyond your expectations. Good weather conditions help to make your trip more spectacular, but to my mind, it’s the people you meet that make the place special and a journey unforgettable. For my time in NZ I wasn’t alone. To light the way, Mark Dewsbery was sent to me to show me the way. It seems he knows every tree, path, even cloud (you can be literally in the clouds with him, as he is a pilot). It appears the nature of South Island knew we were coming: we were lucky to see Mt. Cook (the highest point of NZ) with no clouds on the peak, while on our way to Mueller’s Hut. I will never forget the day when we had a flat tire in the middle of nowhere on Sunday evening. Of course, we couldn’t go a whole trip without any bad luck, not one garage was open to help. We indeed had a spare wheel but it was not good enough to continue our distant journey. So Mark took me to a nice house, which was my accommodation for the night. The next day at 7 in the morning, he was back to pick me up with a new tire, full of energy and with fresh fruits and food packed to eat on the banks of a picturesque lake.
So if you want your trip to be well organized, full of special places and even regular touristic places – but shown from an unexpected angle – you want Mark Dewsbery as your guide.
