The National Aquarium is one of the only places in New Zealand where you can have a Close Encounter with Little Penguins. These friendly and entertaining little birds (also referred to as Little Blue Penguins) are only found in New Zealand and South Australia. During the encounter you'll experience what goes on behind the scenes, discovering all about the day-to-day care of these character-filled little birds and take part in hand-feeding them right in their enclosure. Learn about their rescue and rehabilitation and also what you can do to help preserve this special species and their environment.
