Spectacular!
Great vehicles in a terrific setting. Things for the kids to do, wives are interested and blokes are fascinated. it goes on and on and on. Visit the restrooms too. Movies showing in the wee cinema (free) I saw webcam of someone racing an Mk1 Lotus Cortina and the next visit they were showing The Worlds fastest Indian. Be prepared to spend half a day and the admission gave you multiple entries on that day. great restaurant too. World-class facility - also showing Wearable Arts display.
Unbelievable Collection!!!!
This is a phenomenal collection of trucks, vans, cars, tractors and history of transport in this country and also of the world. The vehicles are displayed at a very high standard. The first hall is immaculate and it kinda blows you away, I could not find a speck of dust anywhere, such was the standard of presentation. This collection started as Bill Richardson's vision and his legacy has been enhanced since. All sorts of motoring memorabilia are on display along with a wearable arts collection, a movie theatre, children's playroom, Cadbury Chocolate display room, their two antique trucks, an Antique Attic and a big working mechanical space that you could view through the windows. Yes, and there is also a Cricket section for the sporty folk. A collection of Wurlitzer's impressed me greatly as did the amazing Texaco Tanker!!!! The collection features a vast array of vehicles from very old to vintage and veteran. My favourites were the International trucks especially the 30's ones, the Kombis, the Citroen Big 15, and the old trucks awaiting restoration in the far room. I would highly recommend visiting this amazing collection there are items of interest for everyone.
A world-class attraction
Even if you aren't really into trucks and cars you will still be impressed. Although the collection is gobsmacking, there is a lot to see and take in for children and adults. The cafe is excellent and there are activity rooms for children. We regret that we only allowed two hours when you could easily spend 4-5 hours enjoying the experience. Very friendly staff too. Highly recommended.
