Otaki Kite Festival
Come fly with us at the Otaki Kite Festival held annually at our stunning Otaki Beach on the Kapiti Coast, just one hour’s drive north of Wellington. 2018 will be the 6th kite festival presented by the Otaki Promotions Group Inc.
Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th February 2018 – kites flying 10am-4pm (tide & weather/wind dependent) plus entertainment 4pm-5pm
Fun for all the family, this free event brings together NZKA kite fliers from around New Zealand, Peter Lynn Kites of Ashburton and international guest kite fliers to showcase their artistry, design and flying skills. Our 2017 festival saw an audience of around 18,000 over the two days enjoying a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.
Spectacular kites of all shapes, sizes and styles thrill those viewing from the beach, above the dunes and the Pavilion roof. Expect to be delighted by the sight of massive inflatable kites, stained glass window and bug kites through to tiny fluttering seagull kites.
