Tekapo Springs offers three tiered Hot Pools landscaped in local greywacke rock and surrounded by the regions native alpine plants to create a natural setting. Pool temperatures range from forty degrees Celsius to thirty six degrees Celsius. The pools have benched seating so you can sit back, relax and soak. The Hot Pools are open from 10am - 9pm daily.
Each pool is shaped in the image of the regions lakes (Ohau, Pukaki and Tekapo) Each pool offers something different - massage jets to take away aches and pains and fountains to splash under. Each pool covers forty square metres of surface area and is a metre deep at their deepest point.
Tekapo Springs operates one of New Zealands most scenic skating rinks. The outdoor rink is full sized. Over winter (April - September) the skating rink is used for ice skating, curling, ice hockey, and more!
Skate hire is included and helmets are provided free of charge.
Private or group lessons are available on request.
Snow Tube Park
Simple, it involves you, a tube, and a 150 metre downhill snow slope. Put these together and you get an adrenalin pumping ride! Great fun for all ages and a must do for any trip to Tekapo Springs. Our magic carpet will take you from the bottom of the park to the top in no time to do it all again! One tubing ticket entitles the bearer to one hour on the snow tube park.
Summer Tube Park
Summer tube rides were at the top of the 'Must Do' list for northern hemisphere adventure seekers - and Tekapo Springs has introduced this ride to Lake Tekapo. Riders use the winter snow tubes. The synthetic carpet has the same slippery properties as snow, with curves, corners and slopes for a thrilling ride-on-gravity!
Please bring suitable footwear for the tubing park; helmets are compulsory and provided by Tekapo Springs. One tubing ticket entitles the bearer to a day pass on the tube park!
* For safety reasons the Tube Park is restricted to persons 1 metre tall and over.
