Adventure Lodge and Motel
With a rustic vibe, this casual, family-run motel is a 10-minute walk from both the National Park railway station and Tongariro National Park. It's also 24 km from the summit of Mount Ruapehu.
Basic rooms come with free Wi-Fi and shared bathrooms. Motel studios add kitchenettes and satellite TV. Apartments add separate bedrooms, as well as living rooms with pull-out sofas.
Cooked breakfast is available (surcharge), and the motel has a woodsy guest lounge with a fireplace. Kayaking, climbing, ski and snowboarding trips can be arranged, and the motel offers a free shuttle to nearby trailheads.
