New Zealand Jade and Traditional Maori Inspired Designs

"I was here about an hour. First a knowledgeable employee gave a talk explaining how jade is located, how it is cut roughly onsite and then transported to the workshop (behind the show and sales room), there to be polished, carved and finished by the artisans there. After the talk and hands on demonstration, our group wandered around watching close hand what the stone workers were doing to produce such fine work as was on display in the front. There was a good selection of jade, or greenstone, in the form of jewelry and other items. Quality of the goods here are excellent."

A Must Stop Between Franz Josef and Christchurch

"The wife wanted some local Jade to take home. This was the place to get it. Prices were reasonable (I think), but then again I'm no expert in jewelry....the wife is. Even bought the granddaughter a jade gift."

Brilliant experience

"Mountain Jade is a must see in Hokitika! The workmanship is outstanding!
A big thanks to Gary and Ray for taking a few minutes to show and explain the technical and artistic side of carving greenstone. Very skilled artisans that work hard to produce fine pieces for travelers like ourselves.
Much appreciated!"
